5. Ability to work your own projects too
Most of a manufacturer's project flow does not come from any database. It comes from inbound enquiries, key account conversations, distributor tips, a photograph of a construction sign, and existing project lists in spreadsheets.

Ask what the software does after handing over a qualified project: does it draft outreach, prepare meeting briefs, schedule follow-ups when project stage changes, and update the CRM without the rep typing?
8. Evidence of rep adoption
The criterion nobody asks about, and the one that decides the renewal. Ask the vendor directly: what share of licensed users are active weekly after six months, and what drives the difference between high- and low-adoption accounts?
